I currently work in ICT support (MCP, MCDST etc) but am totally bored with it and am looking for a change in direction.

Can anyone advise on the best way to get into web design/e-commerce, particularly what training to undertake?

I've been reading about CIW courses (master designer etc) as a start - are these any good?

Any info would be really helpful!!!

I also work as IT Support and feel sort of bored already, mainly because no-one communicates well to actually find a fix (own experience).

i started doing a web Design & Web Authoring course at my local college and from knowing nothing about it, i've made a site on Dreamweaver and will soon be uploading it. Its very exciting to do and i'm not surprised your heading in that direction.

The beginning is always a good place to start, because with IT you will soon be told not to run before you can walk buddy. :)

Good luck
Cheers for that Paulst30.

Since my last message I have completed my CIW foundations course and am now about to start the ecommerce and web site design modules (one of which uses Dreamweaver etc).

I'm hoping that I can start designing web sites for small businesses within the year and give up the negative side of IT support (this doesn't work etc etc) once and for all.

Good luck for the future and ta for your response.

Simon
