lexmark and hp printers cartridges

noticed that lexmark and hp printers are bundled with packages or at cheap prices so i am suspicious - are replacement cartridges availble as i believe both makes have notoriously expensive rip off original cartridge prices

It all depends on which models are being bundled. Always worth doing a check on the web to find reviews for the models. As far as replacement cartridges are concerned all printers come with reduced capacity cartridges so that you have to buy replacements sooner rather than later! the following ink cartridge replacement site is worth a look and will tell you whether they have cartridges for any printer.

On the whole the more money you pay for a printer the better quality prints you'll receive from it. All original ink cartridges are expensive becasue the printers are relatively cheap for the technology they contain. One problem with bundled printers is that although you may like the computer you amy prefer a different printer! You pays your money and takes your choice!

I use Lexmark cartridges and, locally, Staples are the cheapest. However, I have unstalled Inksave which works with Lexmark cartridges amongst others, saving up to 75% which for everyday purposes is fine. You can have trial run for a few weeks or you can buy the software from Amazon.

Yep...Printer manufacturers such as Lexmark and HP make all their vast profits from cartrdge replacements !! Buy a couple of sets of replacement carts for either of these makes...and you nearly pay the price of a new printer..Epson and Canon lead the field in my experience...Carts are still a headache as far as prices go but I have had great success with Jettec cartridges as replacements.The quality of the inks is superb and many test labs rate them as comparable to the manufacturers own.If you want real savings...you can fill your own carts with Jettec refill kits ,,easy to use and an excellent saving with no loss of quality..Have a look here........http://www.jettec.co.uk/index.asp......Regards Ed

I dont think printer manufactures are as bad for this as they used to be, I think that they have realized that joe public have cottoned onto there scam, I was bought a lexmark all in one scanner.printer and copier about 3 months ago for my birthday as my old printer was playing up.
must admit at first I thought oh my god I know this only cost �50 to buy so I am going to have to bin it when the ink runs out, but I was quite surprized I went online and found I could get the cartridge for it for �15 delivered (obviuse not a real lexmark one but it is just as good) .
I think the trick here is do what I used to do, my last printer that I bought I found out what the cost of a replacment ink cart was on various printers on line and found the cheapest ones then had a look into what the printers were like. I eventually found one that was relativly cheap to buy �35 and had good reports and the cost of the replacment carts were a riddicoulus �5 so I bought that one and the prints were stunning even up to a4 size.
Just another thing to ad here about a year ago I was in staples in basildon and the people in front of me bought 2 lots of carts and the bill was a stagering �140 I remember thinking its people like you that buy them at an extorsonate price that keeps the manufactures falsley inflatting their prices
