yep. It'll be in .avi format probably.
You need to burn it as a DVD video to make it work on a standalone DVD player.
You have 2 options to do this :-
(1) Use yor burning software to do this - Nero will convert .avi files to DVD video during the burning process (but I think only some versions of Nero)
(2) Use another software package to convert to VOB files, then burn to disc.
eg. use winAVI to convert to DVD video files (.VOB), then use Nero (or probaly any other burning software - even basic Nero packages can do this) to 'write DVD video files to disc'
for a single film (ie 2hour movie), option (2) is quicker.
For me, it'll take about 1.5-2hrs to convert from .avi to .vob, then about another hour to burn ad verify. using option (1), whilst less commands for the user can take 6-7 hours for my PC
