I want to find software that will enable me to convert my old home videos to dvd through my pc. Can anyone point me in the right direction without me having to pay a fortune. I wouldnt even know what to search for.

What format are your home videos,are they on VHS,if so you will need a tv card or similar to enable them to be loaded onto the pc.Then software to load the files to a dvd burner.

I recently had this problem and found the simplest solution was to buy a dvd recorder then you just connect dvd recorder to VHS video player and away you go.

Note that VHS tapes loaded on to computer hard disk can take up a LOT of room.

If you have a standard 40Gb hard dirve this will not be enough.

You may need to get a 200Gb drive or more.

Note the easiest way to do this is to plug a VHS player into the back of a DVD recorder.

You press play on the VHS tape and record on the DVD.

As long as you dont want to do any editing or anything like that then it is a quick easy solution.
