pps filesi

Ive asked this before but not been able to resolve it. I get regular pps files, i have powerpoint viewer, but every time i try to open one i get message to ceate an association in folders control panel and cannot see any way to make it work any help preferably simple step by step instructions would be very gratefully received, i run XP HOME on my laptop, thankyou.

open My computer, drive c and select Tools>folder options>file types then scroll down to PPS (if it does not exist, the select new then enter PPS). Then navigate to the folder containing your Powerpoint viiewer application, which will have an EXE extension and select this as the file to open any pps file)
