Everytime I visit a site requiring Flash I'm told I don't have a version of Flash on my PC. I then get invited to the Flash website to download the current version. I press the 'download now' button. After a few seconds I'm told I have successfully completed the download and the animated Flash Banner revolves. When I go to run a Flash presentation I'm again told I don't have Flash. Any ideas? I have checked all permissions are granted and even tried with my firewall turned off.

This is quite a common problem. Go to add remove programs and uninstall Adobe Flash player. Then go to the website and re-install it. You should find it now works.

You may need to re-boot your pc for it to work.

Yes, try to re-download from Adobe official site and reinstall again using IE browser.
