error message

I recently bought a camcorder and installed the necessary software - cyberlink producer. The problem is whenever I try to use it I get the error message:- windows internet explorer cannot find http://liveupdate.cyberlink.com/b/b/rPRODUCTNA ME=Powerproducer&PRODUCTVERSION=3............. .......................................etc. Make sure the path or internet address is correct.
I'm not sure what I have to do and would be grateful for any help.
As I'm a bit slow with technology, simple answers are probably better.

Are you on broadband? If not do you have your machine set to automatically dial a connection when required?

If not it may be that you just need to manually connect to the internet before running the software.

Also, do you have a firewall?

I am assuming that the message you posted was not exactly what was appearing on the screen. You could try manually typing the link into IE when you are on line
