wireless router

i have an edimax wireless router but to get online it sometimes takes the wlan infa red light on the router 5 mins to an hour to light up.shouldnt this just register when i switch the router on?

Yes it should! Assuming all your filters are connected ok etc it looks like there could be a problem with the router. I've never used a edimax but I had a similar problem with a linksys router. If it's still under warranty, take it back and see if you can get a replacement
