connecting two pc's

I want to connect my laptop with my pc to download my large volume of photo files and software before reconfiguring the hard drive due to problems with stability. What is the best way to conenct them and download this info? Thank you

The easiest way of transfering files from one system to another is by using a pen-drive. It's the next thing up from floppy discs and you can get them quite cheap. They simply plug into your USB port and then you go into 'My Computer' and the pen-drive comes up as an icon. Open that and then copy and paste anything you want into that folder. Once you've done that, simply unplug the pen-drive and connect it into the USB port in your other machine and open it as you did before in the 'My Computer folder. x
