Where has Favourites gone?

I cannot find the Favourites and History button on my toolbar today. I can see a star with Favourites beside it (in different place from yesterday) but when i try to open it, it wants me to sign in to a Windows Live Favourites. What has happened?

Are you using Internet Explorer 6 or 7? in 7. Right click anywhere on your toolbar, - customize comand bar, then it gives you the option of putting what you like on your toolbar.
IE 6 is along the same lines
