Help with downloading drivers needed

Can u download a driver 4 a modem on2 a disc from http://www.driverguide.com/ I need a driver 4 my modem on 1 computer so could i download it on another computer 2 disc then put the disc in the other computer??

You certainly can (to log on use drivers as the username and all as the password). If the file is bigger than 1.44 MB (the capacity of a floppy disk) and you don't have a CD burner then you can use winzip ( http://www.winzip.com ) to span a compressed file over more than 1 floppy disk.

If download a driver 4 my modem on this computer will it do anything 2 it as it say i should back my drivers up b4 i download the driver i need...also when i do press 2 download the driver will it ask me if i want 2 open it or save it 2 a disc??

The act of downloading a driver to your computer from Driverguide will not normally affect your computer in any way however the Driverguide site carries the warning that you download at your own risk. It is not unknown for some low life to incorporate a virus into a driver file. Drivers are normally in either zip format or .exe. The zipped file must be unzipped before you can use it, the .exe file may be either a self-extracting compressed file or an installation file. Normal practice would be to create a folder on your desktop and download the driver to that. A 1.44 floppy is frequently not big enough. When downloading you should always get the option to download to disk. This is the safest option.
