Sony Ericsson K800i Memory Stick Micro M2
4 Answers
Hello,
I had just got a memory stick (Memory Stick Micro M2) for my Sony Ericsson K800i mobile phone.
After installing all necessary software that comes with the mobile phone onto my computer including the software called "Disc2Phone" to transfer music (or other types of files) from computer to mobile and vise versa, I was about to download songs from my computer to this mobile.
When I chose the destination to download the songs to, my computer showed only the capacity of the phone internal momory (64MB), instead of the capacity of the memory stick which is 1GB. It wasnt shown me other options such as to choose memory stick.
The capacity of this memory stick (1GB) was shown on my mobile.
Anybody out there knows why my computer showed the internal memory (64MB) only?
Please help me.
Thanks.

I think i found this as well with me k750i although i'm just using the card that came with it. I can't remember though because I lost my data cable so now just use bluetooth. However if you can get the files onto your phone you can always move them onto the memory card if that helps (annoying yeah but). just go onto file manager, find the file, go on more or options or whatever it says, and then manage files ->move to ext. memory. sorry can't help any more. looked in the manual?
Hi deadskerrry,
Thanks for your advice. I can access memory card from my mobile indeed. Manual is not much help either. But I did like you suggested to move files from phone to memory stick. A bit annoying to keep moving every files from phone to memory stick but anywat all songs now in the memory stick. Thanks again for your advice. Cheers.

Finally, I have an answer to this problem that I think lots and lots of K800i-owners are troubled by. Luckily the solution is quite simple.
But to use the USB-cable, do the following:
* Install the Sony Ericsson File Manager software (as you have already done)
* Connect your phone.
* You phone will ask you what mode you want, and here's the trick: Do NOT select File transfer mode. Select Phone Mode.
* Start Windows Explorer (Start - All Programs - Windows Explorer)
* In the folder list in the left pane, you will have an entry called "Sony Ericsson File Manager". Click that entry to view it's contents in the right pane. (If you can't see the folder pane on the left, click View - Explorer Bar - Folders.)
From here you can access files both on your 1GB memory stick and your 64MB phone memory.
There is of course the possibility to get a memory card reader. They aren't very expensive and can usually read lots of formats so it can be used for your digital camera if you have one and any other memorycards you may have.
My cardreader is broken so I have to use the USB-cable :/
...or I could buy a new one, but now I don't have to ;)
Good luck!
