problem with netgear dg834g router

hi guys i have been using a netgear dg834g router to connect to aol its been fine till now,but now when i try to sign on it wont work.I`ve phoned aol and they talked me through a re-setup as it seems that for some reason the ip address was lost.Two days later it`s happened again.Doe`s anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening,and how i can solve it.(i need the router as i have a laptop as well).Many thanks in advance Brian.

Can you log on to your router (http://192.168.0.1) ? If so, click on SHOW STATISTICS and see what it says. If the LAN is showing a positive up time but the WAN is not, the likeliehood is that there is a problem at AOL's/BT's end,
