photosmart printer

I moved the pc and had to unplug everything. Now printer wil not work...power on ok. USB lead ok. When I go control panel -printer/fax I get the picture of printer stating offline and a picture of a hand......how do i get back on line thanks

Go to printer/fax and reinstall your printer with the "add printer" button at the left hand side. Once you have reinstalled you printer set your new one to default and delete the old one. Hope this helps.

This sometimes happens if you plug the printer back in to a different USB port.
You should have first ensured that is was re-connected to the same port.
Then go to the printer in control panel and right-click it to bring up the options. Then ensure that it is selected as the default printer and used online.
The hand symbol signifies that the printer is set for sharing on a network, if you do not have a network, deselect this option.
Finally, select properties and ensure that the printer is set to the USB port and not LP1
