When a broadband ISP offers 3GB a month usage, I don't know what this covers? Does surfing use it, or Is the 3GB for downloading - at the moment I have dialup so have no idea of what to choose for broadband. Would appreciate advice.
think about it proportionally, a single webpage is typically about 10kB with no big images. Therefore you would have to visit 300,000 pages every month to exceed your 3GB limit. So no, surfing does not use it. But beware of streaming from sites like youtube because you are effectively downloading videoes
Thanks for the replies everyone. Usually I just surf the web, I no longer download music, and as yet have not downloaded a film. Wouldn't you think ISPs would give some indication of what 3gb would use, especially for dimwits like me! ie: x amount of hrs per month surfing; downloading a film or music etc. I think with your advice 3gb would be ok for my needs. Regards and thankyou all. seelie
I have 3gb per month .Mainly use it for surfing the net about 5hours a day.Up to now have never used more than 1gb but may use more when I learn how to download more stuff!
