Windows XP - secuity update
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB928366).
I'm invited to install this on close down but it has repeatedly failed to work over many weeks. others have given no trouble. Does this matter?

Go into the control panel and select add/remove programs.
Put a tick in the "Show Updates" box at the top of the window middle area.
Select the offending updates and select remove.
You may also need to take a look at the root of your C drive for any strange directory names, these are normally named with a combination of letters and numbers and from previous experience will be at the top of the tree.
I have found in the past that if a windows update does not install correctly it will retry numerous times and create new directories leaving the c drive looking a bit clogged :<
