Really depends on what computer system your using. If youre using a PC then you'll possibly have problems unless youre careful. You wont have to worry with a Mac.

Rubbish, Limewire is fine if you're just downloading music or movies. I haven't heard of a virus in an mp3. It's only the exe files you want to avoid.

I have Limewire on my laptop, not the family PC I'm using now, we have not experienced any problems with it and we have downloaded lots of music

don't use limewire, try multiply.com it's a free mp3 download website, it's perfectly save from virus and spy-ware, if you want to know how to download mp3 from multiply.com try this tutorial :
