I'm a real computer illiterate , so bear with me here. I have been a new PC at work and I can't seem to get some of things I used to get on my old PC , I mean I can still get the internet pages I want but they are not quite the same. For instance on this page there are white boxes where before there were pictures or text , and it's the same on other sites. I realise it's just a matter of clicking something somewhere but what and where? I'd be really grateful for any advice anyone can give me.
Hi there,
This is probably dude to your companies acceptable use policy and it is censoring certain pictures and pages from being shown for whatever reason. Best off getting the net at home and you'll know where you are then!
If it's what I'm thinking ..... have you got a bigger screen?
I'm on a 22" (1680x1050) and there is more white border that page
the fancier the site .... the more likely it is to be working in a fixed size frame (generally 800x600
the old text sites just fill the page .... but ab, bbc etc go for artistic effect (white is the new black!)
the pictureless boxes - delboy could be right .... the latest browser security and privacy settings generally disable java by default
Sorted!! For anyone who might possibly be interested I went into internet options in tools , and changed something in the appearance box . Now I've got an orange answerbank again. It wasn't the same when it was blue! :o)
