avg
I have tried downloading AVG software on a friends laptop, loaded ok but now laptop will not boot up. It displays a page with text on but it doesn't give me time to read it before it tries to reboot again. I need to remove AVG but don't know how. Can anybody help please?

Select "last known good configuration", and uninstall AVG, and restart.
If last known good doesn't work try "safe mode" and repeat the above.
A good alternative to AVG is Avast which also has a free version.

if you're quick .... hit the pause button to freeze the message
I've never had a prob with avg - even with vista
mattie has the fix
I'd suggest
avira

has been getting excellent reviews in the mags.....
to buy ... Kespersky (or steganos uses the same code ... but is cheaper)
