Clock on Windows XP

Running windows XP-everytime I do not have the volume muted I get annoying chimes at every quarter, half and hour.Is there anyway I can remove these pesky sounds?

clock chimes!!!!! ..... it's not 'cause your office is under the townhall clock is it?

no version of windows I know comes with a chiming clock .... my guess is in the dim and distant past - you've installed some fancy clock or appointment manager type prog

look in your add remove progs .... or try right clicking the clock and choose options

Thanks for your help-it was an appointment manager long forgotten but which I have now deleted
