U sound like u know what our talking about so, : My ex has given my daughter a pc and put a password on it, in the bios i believe. He tells me he cannot remember what it is. Is there any way of overriding it ??? When u switch on u are prompted to press F2 then asks for a password . Any ideas ?

Thanks for the link. Got home, removed the battery (CMOS) and the Jumper. Its not requiring a password now which is great but its just not doing anything . I switch on and it stays on the Fujitsu screen (looks like its booting) and at the bottom it says : adapter scan........ Above it briefly gives the options of F2 and F12, then switches itself off, on again and repeats that. Does not go any further. Any Ideas?? Or has the loser given her a total duff pc ? Replys greatly appreciated.
Press and hold F2 or F12 when it starts up and see if that takes you to the BIOS setup screen

Hiya, yes it does but dunno what to do when i get there. All looks normal. Set the date n time etc. Make sure there are no passwords. What else . (really appreciate your help)
