I have a flash drive and it wont load

hi there i have a newish laptop running on vista home premium and i had a flash drive (kingston) which i lost and it loaded immediately, i bought another one a vernatum and it wont load it just asks for a disc which there isnt 1? so i bought another 1 a sandisc cruzer 2 gig which is the same wont load and yet loads on my mums laptop with the same spec and also vista? i checked on the device mananger on seria ports and it is listed but says cant find drivers? does anyone know what i can do cos i have 2 x 2gig flash drives and loads of colloege work and im desperate? any help on how to load would be appreciated

Unplug the computer, uninstall any and all drivers related to it, reboot, plug the device back in, and re-install the drivers.

Also check to see if the drive is formatted in NTFS or FAT 32. Format the drive in NTFS and it should recognize again.

hi there i have tried device manager and it doesnt say anything is wrong at all? i dont know what else to do but thanks for answering
