MCAfee Antivirus making pc slow

Hello
Just got some McAfee Antivirus free with sky broadband . Before i installed it i was using Avast free antivirius which seemed fine , but since i have installed this MCAfee my pc seems to be slow . Does the antivirus bog down the system or is it just not a good antivirus to have
Will i be okay switching to the antivirus i has before.

When you installed McAfee did you uninstall Avast?

It is not a good idea to have two anti-virus running at the same time.

Is the McAfee just anti-virus or is it a full security product because if so it may be doing more "work" protecting your PC.

If you are unhappy with McAfee then go back to Avast, just because you got McAfee with Sky you are not obliged to use it.

No i have unistalled the Avast aned its Mcafee security centre

i got macafee and find its slow when yopu log in and it does slow down when its updating.
but then its updating to protect you
i find it very good and a lot better than norton.
which i hated
