I use Firefox as a browser and recently did a clearing of my cache. Now I'm unable to get my username to come up automatically when I sign on to my Gmail account. Before clearing the cache, all I had to do was type the first letter of my username and the rest of it would pop up and I'd just click on it. Now I have to keep retyping the entire username each time I sign in. My Hotmail username stays signed in. Why doesn't Gmail? Any suggestions?

Hi 'saysun'.......I guess you have Internet Explorer installed also......I believe that when you access Hotmail it automatically uses IE even though you have set Firefox as your default browser, whereas Gmail will access via your default browser

Hey Zinnie,

Thanks for the response, but was there an answer hidden in there somewhere?
Are you sure that you didn't make any other changes? Clearing the cache shouldn't have the effect that you describe.
Click Tools/Options and then click the Privacy button.
Make sure that the option "Remember what I enter in forms..." is checked.
In the Private data section, either uncheck the box "Always clear my private data..." or leave it checked, click on Settings, and uncheck "Saved form information".
