programs open on there own

Does anyone know why when my computer is on and I'm not using it that some programs open on there own like Outlook & windows media player doesn't seem to do this when I'm on the computer I have AVG anti-virus plus ZoneAlarm and Ad-Aware I've used all these programs to check for spyware but I still have this problem it only happens now and again should I worry ?

Have you ever recieved an e-card with a "free gift" inside.. I did one time - years ago and it put this "monkey thing" on my PC.. When I turned on PC, and just left it, it used to start connecting to the internet on its own etc!

Got the Bu***r taken off.
I can't think of anything else, tho I'm no expert.
