printer
my printer has died and I need a new one. I want a multi-function (scan and copy as well as print - not fussed about fax).
BUT I want one where the copier will enlarge - does anyone have a suggestion?
The dead one ws a Lexmark X5250, but not sure they are still made.

Well just over a year ago I had to replace a seven year old HP Laser. I went to Copelands and they ordered in a Canon LaserBase MF3110.....it scans, photocopies, and of course prints. A toner cartridge lasts almost a year, replacement costs 36 from Amazon and takes a couple of days to arrive. I am not a heavy user, but I do quite a bit of research and often print large files some with pictures and graphics. I think the printer was just under 200
May seem expensive but it is fast and quiet and the print doesn't smudge. I got a small HP photo printer for printing 6x4 pics; anything larger I take to Photo Lab and they charge 1.90 for an 8x10 --- and they do them while-I-wait, usually no more than about five or ten minutes.
Hope I have given you some ideas you can use

Good Morning Goofy
Sorry to it has taken so long for me to respond, but, Mrs OS has been on my case to, "Actively participate in entertaining her female friends."
That's all well and good, but, I don't 'ever' know what to say to her female friends and I usually spend most of my time apologising.
Anyway, I went back to check my paperwork and you are 100% correct. I bought the printer from Colemans Stationery; at my age I find the brainbox often getting cross-connections. Sorry for the confusion.

Canon LaserBase MF3110
That will give you some good pics and you can go on from there to seek technical specs. I use mine for photocopying, photgraph scanning, and regular printing
As always, some people have had bad experiences with the printer, but, I have found that to be a common occurance with everything....some are less lucky than others, and,....some are more unlucky than others
I think their national website is
http://www.colemans.com
but I always perfer to see the product in the shop.
Good luck
