faulty prizes in competition

not sure where i should put this, but maybe one of you might be more clued up than me over these matters,
i won one of the laptops that was ran in the tesco prizedraw (october) recived it in end of november, had loads of problems with it, kept trying to sort it out, and now have found out it could be a CPU fault or on the motherboard !
have been in touch with the tesco people who ran the comp, they just keep promising to get back in touch but never do, i have emailed, phoned etc, sent all the details with emails to verify, but they still don't seem to want to know, can anyone advise me what else i can do ?
thanks for any help.

Tesco in New Ross, Ireland, have been blatantly breaking the law by refusing to refund on faulty laptops, referring the buyer to the manufacturer for help. When challenged, customer services there stated that they simply wouldn't refund as then they'd be at a loss until the manufacturer paid them. This is a direct violation of Irish law. I see no reason why they'd treat UK customers any differently, and the fact that you got it for nothing would possibly mitigate against them going any way towards rectifying your problems.
fair enough, whickerman, but the fact of the matter is that it was a competition, and the T& C's of the comp (which i have studied) stated that the prize was valid, and would be delivered in full working order, i have been in touch with a few of the winners , (3 of which also are having problems with thiers as well,) but the majority of the prizewinners laptops are ok, i have been in touch with the manufacturers of the laptop, who said because it was a prize, the tesco competition runners are liable for the prize they promised, a fully working laptop, if i had bought it, then it would be a different matter, so even though i 'got it for nothing' they should honour thier prize which they put out on competitions.
Otherwise they should headline thier competions
'win a faulty laptop that needs repairing'
lol
