I installed driver magic, as you suggested, but drivers are now in a folder on my C drive. There is only C drive on computer, so if I format this will be pointless. Is it possible for me to send this folder to some other media ie. cd, sm card or external drive, for reinstallation of drivers after format
Thanks for any assistance.

that's the idea ... you've answered your own question

stick the contents of the "my drivers" folder
(personally I use the zip option - only about 15Mb)
(I also include the driver max program itself - c:\Program Files\Innovative Solutions\DriverMax)
as well as the install file
oh and the e-mail with your registration details
(the whole lot is only about 19Mb)

I then include this on my custom windows install cd (along with all my other utils)

driver magic (which I use when working) allows the creation of an exe install package so I only need a single exe
