My sister doesn't have any icons on her desktop & when I was there at the weekend, I tried to do some shortcuts for her, but nothing appears.

I've never encountered this problem on any of my, or other family members pc's.

Could anyone throw any light on the reason/s why you can't do shorcuts to her desktop please?

Thank you.

It could be that they're just turned off. Right click on the desktop and tick "show desktop icons"
sorry forgot to say "Right click desktop - view - show desktop icons"
camioneur should have said:

Right click on the desktop, then from the menu choose "Arrange Icons By" then select "Show Desktop Icons"
You dont say what operating system you are using, my example was from Windows XP.

Thank you for the very helpful info camionsuer.

I'm off to the shops now, but will phone my sister when I get back to see if that box is ticked on her pc.

Thanks again. ;o}

Thank you vhg. Yeah, she's using Windows XP, the same as me & our daughters, but we've never had the same problem.

Id already looked at that option too, so am sure I can get her to fix it when I get back - I'll let you know. ;o}

vhg, why should I have said that? Unless you knew he was on XP before he said he was. I was quoting exactly what mine says on Vista..not so vhg eh?

Ah, that's a coincidence camioneur, my username is after our late cat Smudge! We had her for 13 years & she was a Russian Blue lookalike.

P.S. You don't have to apologise - you can't always tell if AB'er's are ladies or gents on here. ;o}
Don't ask her to prove it to you camioneur, she'll flash her bloomers at you, it's really embarrassing!
