I have downloaded a large BitTorrent file, but when I open the file,it is made up of about 30 other smaller files, all of the same size of 14mb each, and each file has the extension of .r.I have several programs installed which I use to convert files into .mpg, and then burn to disc, but none of my programs recognise .r files.I eventually decided just to go into each of the file properties and change the extention to .mpg.This seemed to work ok because now I can play each file using Power DVD, but I still cannot burn the file to disc.Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Also, is there a way of converting these files into 1 large .mpg file? I use BitTorrent because the download speeds are pretty good, but you never seem to know what type of file you are going to get.I am fairly new to BitTorrent and perhaps I am doing something wrong. It used to be really easy using KazaaLite because you knew what format the file was,and you could even preview most of them after you have downloaded a small portion, but the download speeds of the more popular files is awful.
Yep, you want winrar (rarlabs.com), when you open one of these files in winrar it'll "include" all of the others you then need to extract it. You'll then have the usable file. Don't know what they split it up into lots of different files, there is no advantage when it is a torrent.
