laptop backlight

I have got a dell inspiron laptop which after a couple of minutes the backlight goes off but the computer stays on,does anyone know what the problem may be or how to resolve this? Many thanks

look at your power settings in control panel

short times

your power settings determine how your lappy consume power ....
the 2 main hogs are HDD and Backlight .... normally set to 30 mins or so ... at rest

if the settings have beem knocked down to 1 min ... scratch your head .... and the screen will go dark
