Can I install an old Microsoft Works on to my computer running Vista? I need to use attachment capabilities and don't have Office (can't afford) installed. I did download Openoffice which is great but I discovered I still can't send attachment without Microsoft. Is there a way?
Yes you can install works. But I can't imagine why you think you need it to send attachments. You can send any document as an attachment by creating an e-mail then clicking the "attach" button or clicking Insert/File as attachment.
You can also attach an OpenOffice document direct from within OpenOffice by clicking the "Document as E-mail" button on the OO toolbar or clicking File/Send/Document as E-mail
Forgot to say that OO also has the advantage that you can choose what type of document should be attached. Once you have clicked File/Send, you can choose Document as E-mail, E-Mail as Open Document text, E-Mail as MS Word, and E-Mail as PDF (probably the most useful).
Yes, especially when you realise the "Works on Vista" declaration does not mean that all the features of a program work on Vista. Just enough to make the program useful.
