I am getting a laptop will i get windows Vista or XP?

I can't say which you'll get, because that's up to you. But I think you should try and get XP.

Even better, get a Macbook.

Unless you specify otherwise you will almost cetainly get Vista.

Microsoft encourages suppliers to move across to the latest version of Windows as soon as it is shipped, and Vista has been out over a year now.

Some suppliers like Dell do offer XP, but you usually have to ask for it and if you dont you will get Vista.

almost certainly you'll get vista .. MS have slapped dell and refused them anymore XP discs

it's not bad ... and getting better all the time ...
XP went through the same ... (viva 98!!)
If you are a bit doddery and set in your ways ... it's just hard to let go ... <};-P

seriously ... unless it's second hand ... or you have the software ... and the drivers ... you don't have much choice ....
if you are on an unlimited budget get the mac .... no software problems there ... except finding some (I think they've just released the mac version of pong!)
