Can anyone help a complete computer idiot ?
I always download a couple of crosswords from the web which are in Pdf format. When I try to do this today my computer freezes ,they won't load and I have to log off and restart. The Adobe reader thingy is obviously not working . Tried a systems restore but that doesn't do anything either .I have no idea how to download another reader and am missing my Spectator crossword fix !
We use Firefox .
Any ideas ..thank you .

If she had the same kind of eyedrops I did Neti focusing at a near distance - and the light from the screen - is extremely tiring for several days after. Chin up Robi, you'll be normal aga- ...oh well you know what I mean. You'll be yourself again;-)
Been reading up on Camelot since jno's mentioned it and I've decided to emigrate: The amount of snow there is regulated by decree. Calamity Kit is no longer, I am now Camelot Kit. Quote:
It's true! It's true!
The crown has made it clear:
The climate must be perfect all the year.
A law was made a distant moon ago here,
June, July and August cannot be too hot;
And there's a legal limit to the snow here...
In Camelot.
The winter is forbidden till December...
And exits March the second on the dot.
By order summer lingers through September...
In Camelot.
I know it sounds a bit bizarre.
But in Camelot, Camelot,
That's how conditions are.
The rain may never fall till after sundown,
By eight the morning fog must disappear.
In short, there's simply not,
A more congenial spot
for happy everaftering than here
In Camelot.

< < < Loved the pic so much I had to use it, hahaha
Evenin all...here I is, feeling a bit 'post adrenalin'.... neti's galleon flags showed me the way. Thanks for the email Kit & yes, you're right, the glare from the screen is very harsh & all these floaters are disorientating. I could darken my old monitor but I don't seem to be able to alter this one. I haven't read every post in the old home yet but I will - it helps if I double you all in size, I think I'll make you stay like that...<evil cackle>...nothing's tasted right today either, not even chocolate! Maybe it's due to all the chemicals they posted through my eyeholes? Thanks for telling me the official name for it, I expect they thought I was too blonde & confused to understand big words.
Hope you're all ok, having as good a weekend as possible & that poorly husbands are progressing well. I'll be up to speed as soon as possible.
Loved your email today jno, made me laugh!
and a <<thwack>> for Lottie....elderly!!

^^It's so you, daahling. /The blurryness is gone though, isn't it? (If by blurryness you meant something other than the floaters.) My blurryness only lasted for maybe an hour or so, it was very odd, I was trying to read the paper and all of a sudden it was as if there was water all over the pages melting and distorting the letters and columns. And there were flashes and stars, both before and after that, I think. *joins in thwacking Lottie* Those of us who are nearsighted don't have to be elderly for this to happen, you know:)
Robi is it both eyes or just the one? It's both for me and it seems to have happened at the same time. The floaters can be either fixed or moving about, mine move when I change the direction of looking and then they sort of fall back again to where they were. I tried to describe this to a friend and she said Oh it's like a snowglobe! Another one said Oh it's like watching an old film - rather appropriate I thought. It's a bit fascinating to think that we ourselves can never see our own floaters, we just see the shadows they cast... Anyhoo, trust me, you will get used to it, six months from now it won't bother you.

haha, any excuse to dress up...and yes, it's still blurry + floaters. She said it would take some time to settle but if anything new happened or it suddenly worsened I should go back & not sit worrying at home. ( I think it also means get back here pdq, but it's nice when they put things in a straightforward but kind way...there are some on here who could take a leaf out of her bedside manner manual)

Just to be clear (as you said "at the moment"), they won't go away. But you've got used to your old ones I suspect? ...and it's the same with these.
Brokeback Mountain on the telly in three minutes, I've never seen it, think I'll check it out so I'm cool if I run into that Russian woman again;-)

Hi All and welcome back Robi. Pleased you're as cheerful as you always seem to be to me and are getting the treatment for your eyes. That picture reminded me Johnny Depp's on this weekend in one of his Pirate films. Mustn't miss that.
Hope the rest of you are having a decent and stress free weekend. I've not got over my night out yet. I've been tired all day. I'll have to go out more often and get used to it again wont I!
Been to my sister's (younger one) tonight and she has been to an outlet today that sells M & S, Per Una, Autograph stuff, cheap. She bought 4 Per Una skirts for £15 each which was a massive saving. It's only open Sat and Sun so I might just go for a browse tomorrow.
Off now to do a Sudoku!! Take Care y'all :o)
