Happily using this browser but from nowhere I suddenly have pop-up ads using the site. Any ideas how is the best way to block them please

Go to Tools, then options, then content. Check the pop up blocker is enabled.

Thanks for the idea dabees but it is enabled. Just checked
If you go to Tools, Add-ons, Extensions, you should be able to download *Adblock Plus* - that's very good at stopping all the pop ups.

(There are loads of really useful add-ons available from Firefox by the way - I also have ReminderFox which is like a little calendar.)
Have you checked the exceptions brisyd? You may have allowed Answerbank to display pop ups, but adding adblock plus is also a good idea, like Jugglering said.
