I have been trying to rip music from my own cds to a computer but I am finding there are little gaps when I play them back, this is on my works computer, employer does not mind, i am using the mp3 format at the highest quality. When I rip to my own computer at home I have no problems. could it be the cd drive is knackered, if so can I rip them to mp3 format at home and down load them to the works computer another way. eg. email or memory stick.
Rip at home and just burn them onto a dvd as data as though you're making backups ( which is allways a good idea ) then, insert dvd into works puter and copy contents.
With an average bit rate you'll prob get about 50-60 mp3 albums on one dvd.

Just re-read question.
Try reducing the bit rate down from 320 to 256 or 224.
320 is audiophile quality and unless you're playing back on a high end equipment there will be no noticable difference.
