nvidia 8600 gt graphics and angel of death

I got Angel of death for my pc and I got the Nvidia 8600GT graphics card. In principle this should work and my pc is compatible for this game. However when i play the game the characters are in silhuette. So i have black characters and cant see their faces or any details. Also wheni pause the game and resume it , for a split second it will show the proper character but then it will go again. I got 650 w psu so that should be enough. Can anybody shed some light on this for me as my son is desperate to play the game

Yes done that yesterday, that did help with the sound issue but not the video. I tried all screen resolutions but still no luck. This is driving me mad lol. Thanks for suggesting things though, just incase i have forgotten anything

Done everything you said and still no luck. ITs so strange, when i pause game and then resume it , it shows the characters properly for a split second. I really appreciate all what you done so far. Im at my wits end.

hmmm. I noticed that you have a sound issue.Believe it or not,updating your sound card driver can erradicate this problem if there is a conflict.
Are you running xp?

Apparently there is an issue with this game and duel or quad core cpu's that cause these symptoms.
You may need to dissable multiple cores in the bios.
You could try going into the bios and disable hyperthreading first which works for some.

Something to consider. Are you online when running the game?
I'v played games which are corrupt while online, but work ok if the internet link is turned off.
