HP Desk Jet D1460 - not printing bottom border on page

New printer - trying to print a document on it - newsletter for school with 2 columns and a double border all around.
It will NOT print the bottom border on the page. I have just had the most ridiculous chat with one of HP's operators who tells me there's nothing that can be done. The newsletter is just an ordinary word document.
I've tried adjusting page length - margins - depth - the lot but it will not print the bottom margin.
Any ideas? I'm sure it must be something quite simple in settings that I'm missing.

check your paper sizes in the print setup, make sure you have it set to A4 and not US letter

It is set up to A4 - just checked
Try moving the bottom border up a bit. Sounds like it can't physically be printed.

Thanks for replying. After hours trying everything I could think of - I've given up. I've printed the border only on my laser jet and then used that paper for the newsletter minus the border on the desk jet. Bob then is your uncle. Seems a bit of a faf though!
first of all you need to explain what you are trying to edit the document in (if it's word or notepad) The settings for the margins can be adjusted in the left or top column, make sure there are no little L marks in either this snaps the document to a certain size and adjusting the borders won't solve your problem. If there are little L marks click them and drag them off the borders

Hi - thanks for your reply - I'm doing it in word - I'll double check what you suggest
Question Author
no L's anywhere - interestingly - I can get the dividing line (between the 2 'newspaper' columns to the bottom of the page by dragging margin down but the bottom line on border is still missing. On print layout it shows as being there but on print preview and then when you print it's missing.
The best thing to do in this instance is un-install word, completely, and shut down your machine, then when it's back up and running, re-install and it will set everything back to it's default margins and printing settings, (this only assuming it was ok when you first used word)
