laptop to TV

How do I connect my laptop to my TV. I have a new TV Hi Def and my Laptop is an advent. Any help much appreciated.

have you got a TV output on your laptop?? or does your TV have a VGA PC input????

if your not sure give a couple more details than just advent and somebody will no doubt check the specs for you, but they do make more than on sort you know :)

Sorry should have been more spcific my tv has a hdmi, scart, component video socket, composite, AV socket and DC socket (according to argos) and my laptop has a DVI port and S-video/ TV out port (so says the manual). Most of it doesn't mean anything to me.

you can do laptop s-video output to scart input on tv including audio..

Check all connectors look the correct, other cheaper ones probably could be found elsewhere.
