USB connection

Can audio be recorded on to a PC (assuming suitable software is is installed), from an external device (cd player?), using a usb lead?
Anyone know if a suitable lead fitted with a stereo mini jack is made? Many thanks. 711

why usb?

just use a 3way male to male audio lead
plug earphone into PCs aud in ...
you can use audacity to record/edit

and also if you recording from a CD then why not put the CD in your computers drive and just rip the audio straight from it, then you get a digital copy and will be much better quality!!

I have a laptop which has not got audio in socket - only mic (which is no use) or usb. Point taken re - CD. A bad example, could be a cassete player, record player, minidisc etc. I use several sources. So It`s a bit of a problem! 711

your mic in is also a line in, they auto sense what it is and adjust the level accordingly

on previous pc`s, i`ve always found the mic input to be useless for playing audio from other devices. however, i`ll try it and let you know. thanks! 711.

I've always used mine ... only "problem" is setting the player volume.

Iv'e generally found it has to be quite low
