when i attempted to open the AB, McAfee redirected me to their security page.
anyone else had this warning ??????
this is just a small section of the warning i recieved.
Why were you redirected to this page? When we tested, this site attempted to make unauthorized changes to our test PC by exploiting a browser security vulnerability. This is a serious security threat which could lead to an infection of your PC.
Yes.............most or our PCs are corrupted/infected with porn on hard disc from Sunday's topics. If the PC needs repairing in a shop or such we're gonna have a lot of explaining to do...........
But there's a very amusing sex shop in the Canaries where we can all go, en masse, to escape the law.
Well we all keep having trouble with our computers in some manner - pages freezing, running slowly, etc. Then of course, you've got the stupid idiots who've been messing about with the html and stuff........
technically sallyparkerbowles you dont have to read the ts and cs. you just click on the i have read them button, so you are wrong in what you say and wrong to assume that tesco or anyone else reads them. is this clear or would you like to get me a piece of chalk so i can explain in easier for you
who mentioned PORN ?
this was a genuine security threat warning from the McAfee site advisor.
it was only after i allowed McAfee to access the site that i was allowed in.
sarky pants, me ? HA !
wasnt being sarky Ms Bowles, i was being genuine.
some people dont have the same levels of internet security as others. if there is a threat to our systems by using the AB, surely we have a right to know !
(and it SHOULDNT be in the small print)
:-)
sorry black thunder, that quip was directed at someone else (091264), not you.
I understand you had a genuine complaint and we have invaded your thread, so apologies there mate....
many of the posts on this site end up the same way. people chatting to others who have answered your query. It's called wandering off down the garden path ,or some such silly saying...I can't remember now...what was I talking about??
oh yes, invading your thread....sorry, once again x
:-)
Just a thought ....... perhaps if you'd posted your Q in How it Works, or Technology, rather than in Chatterbank, you might have got more relevant answers.
Chatterbank threads usually tend to include lots of chat about all sorts!!!!
no problem sally. :-)
but if you care to take a look, only Ice gave a genuine answer.
everything and anything else was NOTHING to do with the thread !
the threat was infact "unauthorised changes" to a major security companies testing computer.
if it isnt safe for McAfee, what chance do we have ?
:-)
