A Virus
There are about 14 of us with pc's on a Network. When one chap went home last night, his pc was fine, when he came in this morning, his pc has a virus. Can this happen when it is logged off / switched off over night?

Maybe the AV program only found it when it ran when the PC was switched on (I assume it was an AV program that found it).
Or it may be, for example, that the virus file was downloaded yesterday, but did not install itself till the computer was switched on this morning (a program can set itself to install as Windows is starting up).
If you have not done so already, disconnect that PC from the network and make sure it is completely clean before connecting it back to the network.
Also check carefully that it has not infected any other computers on the network.

just to add to VHG's answer
if (as seem likely) it's installed a run key into the registy - so it first runs on a restart.
it's possible that it's not the only one on the network ... get EVERYONE to update their scanners .... disconnect from the network ... and then run a full scan.
this needs to be done soon ... and all 14 need to do it at the same time ... if one misses ... and is infected it will then pass it on ,,,, and on ... and on...
