Trouble with psp9 on Vista

Hello i was wondering if anyone can help me at all please im trying to download psp9 ( Paint shop Pro 9) on my laptop (Vista) its installs ok but when i try and open it it wont open and keeps saying "Paintshop has stopped working and windows is trying to find a solution"
it did open once straight after installing after requestting a desktop icon and launch progamme but now it wont open at all i have installed it on my sons lappy and i have the same one as him an Acer i honestly dont know what is wrong with it any help will be greatly recieved many many thanks in advance Jennie xxxxx

A quick search seems to indicate PSP 9 does not work under Vista.

It is quite an old release (2004) so that is not surprising.

A newer version of PSP is available.

thanks vhg,hubby said he thought that might be the case,its a shame as 9 is my fav version,i don`t think much of 10,11 or 12.
