how strange is this then??

OK. My Dad was just going through genes reunited and showing a friend how its works. We searched the friends very rare name and all that came back with was his own family. I then said to try my name (which is my old married name) and as always it was just the family of my ex hubby.

Fast forward 5 minutes, and i get an email notification of a message on facebook.

I log on to find a message from one of the family members (exes cousin) asking if hes related to me!

I havnt seen him for at least 10 years and only met once.

Isnt that weird though, to not think of someone for 10 years and then get an email within 5 minutes!!!

they never kept in contact as such. Just heard bits and peices about each other via their parents.
They werent same age, hes about 15 years younger than my ex

yes they are all weird Oct, but i meant weird that i havnt even thought about this cousin for 10 years, until i saw his name on the genes reunited list (not even my list but my sister in laws) and then 5 minutes later he contacts me on FB.

But then why would he think you are related? I mean thats the strangest part, even though you are from Norfolk.

My name isnt on that list at all, it was written after my divorce.

Hes not from Norfolk, and neither am i lol.

I just think it a strange coincidence thats all.

He thought we were related as we have same surname, which is very rare in UK
