Download speed

Hi,I can be on my computer for hours and download at aprox 540-600kb/sec
but if i stop for about half an hour while i have tea etc when i go back my download speed goes down to 90kb/sec,so i switch off boot it back up and its o.k. again, any ideas,

have you anything like limewire, kazza etc etc installed that could be hogging bandwidth

it could be something to do with your ISP trying to limit you bandwidth usage ?

I'm just thinking of when I used to live in Italy and connect with my cell phone as that was the only way as soon as i tried to download i would get cut off luckily its not so drastic in the UK
