Extra Email address

I am on Virgin Media, and using Outlook Express for my Emails.

Is it easy to create an extra Email account, so that I can have more than one Email address?

There are dozens (or, more likely, hundreds) of providers of free email services. However, the vast majority of them only offer web-based mail, rather than allowing you to use a POP3 client, such as Outlook Express.

The most frequently recommended service which does offer POP3 mail is Google's GMail:

However, some people don't like the way that Google automatically scans all mail, so that advertising matter can be appended:

My own preference is use Gawab. See paragraphs 3, et seq, of my post here for details of how to set up a Gawab account with Outlook Express:

Both GMail and Gawab are good for setting up 'disposable' email addresses (e.g. when you just need an address to sign up to an offer). I've probably created around 100 addresses with Gawab, although I just use 4 at the moment.

However, you can have up to 5 addresses with Virgin anyway. Click on 'Email addresses', here, for details:

And each of those 5 Virgin mail boxes can have up to 3 aliases - so every Virgin user has 15 email addresses.

You can set up addition email addresses with Virgin from here

You then need to configure Outlook Express to collect from the additional mailbox unless you set up an alias on your existing mailbox (as mentioned above you can have multiple aliases on one mailbox or can set up additional mail boxes which, again, can have multiple aliases)

Try googling free e-mail pop 3.

I came up with yahoo gmail and one called inbox.com all with pop3 access, did another google for pop 3 help on that and came up with this.
