Laptop speakers compatible with Vista

Can anyone suggest some laptop speakers compatible with Vista, preferably quite small and with USB plug?

Why do you want one that plugs into USB, Does your laptop not have a headphone socket??

Don't know really; yes I do have a headphone socket.

then any set of computer speakers... or speakers for a walkman or MP3 player (not Ipod) will do, just plug into the headphone socket.

bigger and Amplified will be a better sound of course... a small set will probably be no better than the internal speakers on the laptop

Thanks, but I have a set of iPod speakers that work with the PC but the volume is too low, despite adjusting everything adjustable on the PC and the speakers to max. I've noticed quite a few sets of speakers say they're not compatible with Vista and I wondered if that was the reason.
