How to view remote cctv on laptop

I'm trying to find out how easy it would be to install cctv at my stables and view the cctv from home on my laptop. The stables are 1 mile from the house and my internet connection is mobile broadband.I know companies offer the full system but I want to find out how easy it would be for my electrician partner to set up, and a rough idea of the cost. Any information very much appreciated.Thank you.

you either need 'tinternet at the stables as well as one at home
alternatively a private wire (which only BT can provide)

if you can literally see your house from there - you might just be able to connect using a pringles tin (seriously!)

1 mile isn't far as the donkey rides - but it's a serious distance in wireless (or even wire) terms

Thank you...a pringles tin??! What the?lol. Yep can see house from stables across a couple of fields.It's probably nearer to just half a mile as the crow flies.Might end up just using camcorder from house window!

you can get a wireless webcam and do it that way just set up the webcam or more than one in the stables and plug the receiver on your laptop

i use them for monitoring just google for suppliers
