How do I put a shortcut to IE7 on my desktop? I'm fed up with doing it from the start menu and quick launch bar.
Thanks

May be the same in Vista.
Display the "Start" menu and find the IE7 icon
With the mouse hovering over the IE7 entry hold down the RIGHT mouse button and while still held down drag it across to the dekstop.
Let go of mouse button and you should get a small menu with "Copy Here" on it.
Select "Copy Here" and the icon should apear on the desktop.
You can do this with ANY product or entry on the "Start" menu

use this link
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/a dd-internet-explorer-icon-to-windows-vista-des ktop/
then use the reg file at bottom of page that says
add ie icon to desktop
this way it adds the proper shortcut with properties etc not just one with a shortcut arrow
