suggestion for at home study is don't

some of the IT training schools promise the stars and charge the earth.

You need the basics - word processing is only putting words in a document and formatting the layout to make it easy to read - the basics apply to 90% of all documents
so you will need a small set of skills(it's the words that count)

again spreadsheets are simple enough to use - its the twiddly bits that take the time - once you have the basics - it becomes very job specific

go to your local tec and see what they have on offer - it will be free (or just about)
so if you no likee - nothing lost
Talk to your local college or visit your local library.

Many places do free training for basic computer understanding or learning office products
Hi, Most firms now seem to want ECDL and the next step is ECDL advanced.

They each cover Excel, Powerpoint, Access and Word.
